Application Notes
Bacitracin interferes with cell wall biosynthesis in Gram -positive bacteria by inhibiting the dephosphorylation of lipid pyrophosphate . It is also active in some Gram -negative organisms although most are resistant.2

Bacitracin Zn is a mixture of bacitracin A, B1, B2, B3, and Zn. It has been reported that the bacteriostatic activity of bacitracin increases by twofold when Z n was added at 1 x 10 -5 M and 10- fold at 1 x 10 -4 M. Additionally, the presence of Zn ion helps enhance thermal and storage stability of the bacitracin.3

It has been reported that bacitracin's minimum inhibitory concentration for Clostridium perfringens is 0.93 µg/mL . 4 Please Note: It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to determine the appropriateness of this product for the specific plants that are being cultured and applications that are being used.
