Introduction
Description: Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. Kanamycin has similar modes of action to those of gentamicin in which it inhibits protein synthesis and is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is also used as a selection agent for the nptII gene.
